2025 Winter Meeting Recap
The Tennessee Corn Promotion Board members held their Winter meeting in Dresden, Tennessee.
After reviewing university research proposals designed to help farmers increase production efficiency and profitability, the Board of Directors awarded funding for various projects to Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Tennessee Martin.
The Board of Directors awarded consumer-facing agriculture education funding to Agricenter International, TN Ag in the Classroom, the Tennessee Agriculture Museum, and the Farm Animal Care Coalition of Tennessee. The Tennessee FFA Foundation and the Tennessee 4H Foundation also received funding.
Three of the original nine Tennessee Corn Promotion Board members, Karl Forsbach (Hardin County), Andy Davis (White County), and Ben Gilbert (Hamblen County), have reached the end of their terms of service. Chairman John Townsend presents Karl Forsbach with an appreciation plaque.
The Tennessee Corn Promotion Board is funded through a producer checkoff investment of 1 cent per bushel checkoff on all corn marketed in the state and is managed by nine farmer directors. The mission of the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board is to increase the value and sustainability of Tennessee Corn producers through promotion, advertising, market development, and research.
