Tennessee Corn Promotion Board's Continued Commitment to Youth Development in Agriculture

The Tennessee Corn Promotion Board is proud to continue investing in youth development across the state. Through partnerships with 4-H, FFA, and Agriculture in the Classroom, we are supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Tennessee 4-H Foundation

The Tennessee 4-H Foundation is dedicated to creating and sustaining positive youth development opportunities for Tennessee 4-H members. Thanks to the support of the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board, youth across the state can participate in a range of activities, from plant science and livestock projects to summer camps and 4-H Congress. Additionally, our sponsorship will help fund an educational corn display at the upcoming Tennessee State Fair. We are honored to have recently been inducted into the Tennessee 4-H Hall of Fame in recognition of our ongoing partnership.

Tennessee FFA Foundation

The Tennessee FFA Foundation supports the FFA mission of making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Recently, the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board had the privilege of presenting awards at the FFA Convention in Gatlinburg, TN:

  • Tennessee Corn Promotion Board Member Ben Gilbert helped present the Agriscience Fair Award to the 54 winners

  • Mason Duke from Munford FFA received the Agricultural Services Proficiency Award

The 2025 Tennessee FFA Agricultural Services Proficiency Award winner is Mason Duke of Munford FFA. Mason works for an agricultural flying service that provides aerial application of fertilizers and other crop inputs. His responsibilities include mixing chemicals, ensuring planes are properly fueled, filling auger wagons, and servicing the aircraft—hands-on, technical work that supports efficient and effective crop management for farms in his community.

Mason’s experience highlights the importance of agricultural services careers, including custom equipment operation, agribusiness support, and precision application technologies. These roles are vital to helping producers increase efficiency, conserve resources, and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.

Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom

Through an innovative mobile unit, the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is bringing agriculture education directly to fifth graders across the state. The unit features trivia, VR goggles, interactive displays, and multiple screens—engaging students in learning about Tennessee agriculture. With the support of the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board, many students will now have the opportunity to explore the world of agriculture and learn important facts about corn.

The Tennessee Corn Promotion Board was created to implement a program of research, education, market development, and advertising to promote the increased production, consumption, and use of corn and the sale of Tennessee corn products.
