TN Corn Holds 2022 Summer Meetings, Announces Officer Elections

The Tennessee Corn Growers Association (TCGA) elected a new board member and officers for the 2022-2023 year at its recent annual meeting. 

Richard Conroy from Henry County was elected as a new board member. New officers for TCGA include President - Carl Shultz from Dyer County, Vice President - Rob Holman from Obion County, Secretary - Jonathan Tosh from Henry County, and Treasuer - Richard Conroy from Henry County. TCGA also recognized its outgoing president, John Townsend. John will continue to serve as a director of TCGA.

Following the TCGA Annual Meeting, the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board (TCPB) held a regular board meeting. George McDonald of Riddleton was reelected to serve as Chairman; Andy Davis of Sparta, was reelected to serve as Vice-Chairman; and Mark Spradlin of Jackson was reelected to serve as Secretary-Treasurer.

Both TCGA and TCPB are tasked with creating opportunities for long-term Tennessee corn grower profitability.

Specifically, the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board funds research projects to make advances in corn production to meet the needs of a growing and evolving world. Their initiatives include researching improved efficiency of inputs and minimizing threats from pests and diseases.

Research faculty from the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture were invited to participate in an open meeting with Tennessee Corn leadership to share updates on their research projects.
